Гедонізм це школа думки, яка стверджує, що задоволення є єдиним внутрішнім добром. За дуже простими словами, гедоніст прагне максимально збільшити чисте задоволення. Етичний гедонізм полягає в тому, що всі люди мають право робити все, що в їх силах, для досягнення максимально можливого задоволення від них. Також ідея, що задоволення кожної людини повинно набагато перевершити їх кількість болю. Кажуть, що етичний гедонізм був започаткований Арістіппусом Кіріні, студентом Сократа. Він вважав, що задоволення є найвищим благом.
