Елліністичний період - це період давньогрецької та середземноморської історії між смертю Олександра Македонського в 323 р. До н.е. та появою Римської імперії, що означає битва при Аціумі в 31 р. До н.е., а також наступне завоювання Птолемеївського Єгипту в 30 р. До н. У цей час грецький культурний вплив і влада опинилися на піку в Європі, Африці та Азії, відчуваючи процвітання та прогрес у мистецтві, розвідці, літературі, театрі, архітектурі, музиці, математиці, філософії та науці.
