Історизм
Історизм - це спосіб мислення, який визначає центральне і основне значення для конкретного контексту, такого як історичний період, географічне місце і місцева культура. Як така, це на відміну від індивідуалістичних теорій таких знань, як емпіризм та раціоналізм, який нехтує роллю традицій. Історизм тому має тенденцію бути герменевтичним, оскільки він має велике значення для обережної, суворої та контекстуальної інтерпретації інформації або релятивістської, оскільки відкидає поняття про універсальні, фундаментальні та незмінні тлумачення. Цей термін розвинув різні і розбіжності, хоч і слабко пов'язані, значення. Елементи історицизму з'являються в працях італійського філософа Г. Б. Віко та французького есеїста Мішеля де Монтень, і вони повністю розвинулися з діалектикою Г. В. Ф. Гегеля, впливового в Європі ХІХ століття. Твори Карла Маркса під впливом Гегеля також містять історизм. Термін також пов'язаний з емпіричними соціальними науками та роботою Франца Боаса.
