Хотан, Хетян або Хотан є місцем префектури Хотань на південному заході Сіньцзяну, Китайської Народної Республіки. Раніше вона була відома китайцями як ютиан і європейські дослідники 19 століття, як Ілчі. З населенням 114 000 чоловік Хотан - місто-оазис, що лежить у басейні Таріма, на північ від гори Куньлунь, на якому перетинаються перевал Санджу, а також індуїстські таги та Ільчі. Місто, розташоване на південний схід від Ярканда і населене майже виключно уйгурами, є незначним сільськогосподарським центром.
