Лист - це орган судинного рослини і є основним придатком стовбура судинної рослини. Листя і стебло разом утворюють стріляти. Листя - це масове іменник, що відноситься до листя колективно. Як правило, лист являє собою тонкий, дорсивенцентральний сплющений орган, що носить над землею і спеціалізується на фотосинтезі. Більшість листів мають відмітні верхні і нижні поверхні, які відрізняються за кольором, волосом, кількістю стоматів та іншими ознаками. Мезофілла палісаду майже завжди зустрічається на верхній стороні лопатки або пластинки листа, але в деяких видів, включаючи зрілу листя евкаліптового палісаду, виникає з обох сторін, а листя, як говорять, є ізобіальними. Багато типів листів пристосовані таким чином, майже невизнаваними в таких умовах: деякі не плоскі, деякі не над землею, а деякі - без основної функції фотосинтезу. Крім того, кілька видів листоподібних структур, виявлених у судинних рослинах, не є абсолютно гомологічними з ними.
