Мієлінові оболонки, або частіше відомі як вузли Ранв'є, є прогалини, утворені між оболонками мієліну, породженими різними клітинами. Мієлінова оболонка - багатошарове покриття, багато в чому складається з жирової речовини, що називається мієліном, яка обтікає навколо аксона нейрона і дуже ефективно ізолює її.
