Номограма
Номограма, також називається номограф, діаграма вирівнювання або abaque, являє собою графічний обчислювальний пристрій, двомірну діаграму, призначену для наближення графічного обчислення функції. Область номографії була винайдена в 1884 році французьким інженером Філбером Морисом д'Окане і широко використовувалась протягом багатьох років, щоб забезпечити інженерів швидкі графічні розрахунки складних формул до практичної точності. Номограми використовують паралельну систему координат, винайдену д'Окане, а не стандартну декартові координати. Номограма складається з набору n масштабів, по одному для кожної змінної у рівнянні. Знаючи значення n-1 змінних, можна знайти значення невідомої змінної або шляхом фіксації значень деяких змінних зв'язок між нефіксованими. Результат отримується, поклавши напрямлення через відомі значення на шкалах і читаючи невідоме значення, звідки він перетинає шкалу для цієї змінної. Віртуальна чи намальована лінія, створена напрямком літака, називається індексною або ізоплетою.
