Патологія
Патологія (від давньогрецьких корінь пафосу (πάθος), що означає "досвід" або "страждання", і -logia (-λογία), "облік") є важливою складовою причинного вивчення захворювання та основного поля в сучасній медичній практиці та діагностиці. Термін "патологія" може бути широко використаний для позначення вивчення захворювання в цілому, включення широкого спектру областей досліджень біологічних наук та медичної практики або більш вузько, щоб описати роботу в сучасній медицині "загальна патологія", яка включає в себе Кількість різних, але взаємопов'язаних медичних спеціальностей, які діагностують хворобу переважно шляхом аналізу зразків тканини, клітини та тіла. Використовується як загальне іменник, "патологія" (множина - "патологія" або "патози") може також відноситися до передбачуваного або фактичного прогресування конкретних захворювань (як в твердженні "багато різних форм раку мають різні патології") і префікс "шлях" іноді використовується для позначення стану захворювання у випадках як фізичної хвороби (як при кардіоміопатії) так і психологічних станів (таких як психопатія). Лікар, що практикує патологію, називається патологом.
