Пентхахія
"Пенархія" - це термін в історії християнства для ідеї універсального панування над усім християнством головами п'яти основних єпископських уявлень Римської імперії: Риму, Константинополя, Олександрії, Антіохії та Єрусалиму. Ідея виникла через політичну та церковну значущість цих п'яти, але концепція їх універсальної та виняткової авторитету була міцно прив'язана до адміністративної структури Римської імперії. Ідея пентхахії спочатку була помітна в законах імператора Юстиніана I, особливо в Новелі 131. Квіністекський Собор 692 дав йому офіційне визнання і оцінював видимість в порядку переваги. Особливо після Квіністексту, п'ятиріччя було принаймні філософськи прийнято у східному християнстві, але зазвичай не на Заході, який відхилив Раду. Більший авторитет, який вони бачать у ставленні до інших, був прив'язаний до їхньої політичної та церковної вищості; всі вони знаходилися в важливих містах і районах Римської імперії і були важливими центрами християнської церкви.
