У авіації плоскою формою є форма і макет фіордного літального фюзеляжу та крила. З усіх використовуваних планових форм міріади, як правило, можна згрупувати в ті, що використовуються для швидкісного польоту, знайдених на авіаціях загального призначення, а також для швидкісного польоту на багатьох військових літаках та авіалайнах. Планова форма може також відноситися до проектованої площі крила. З точки зору верхнього виду можна прокласти лінії від провідних і задніх країв на лівому та правому боці фюзеляжу, доки вони не зустрінуться на центральній лінії літака. Площа крила разом із цією проекційною площею часто називають площею планової форми. Він використовується як параметр без розміру.
