Полеміка / pəlɛmɪk / є суперечливим аргументом, який призначений для встановлення істини конкретного розуміння та хибності протилежної позиції. Полеміки в основному видно в аргументах про дуже суперечливі теми. Мистецтво або практика такої аргументації називається полемікою. Людина, яка часто пише полеміку, або хто полемічно говорить, є полемістом чи полемікою. Слово походить від грецького πολεμικός, що означає "войовничий, вороже", що походить від πόλεμος, "війни".
