Поштовий код - це серія літер та / або цифр, доданих до поштової адреси з метою сортування пошти. Після введення поштових кодів було можливим інше застосування. У лютому 2005 року 117 з 190 країн-членів Всесвітнього поштового союзу мали системи поштового коду. Країни, які не мають національних систем, включають Ірландію та Гану.
