Репресор
У молекулярній генетиці репресор являє собою ДНК- або РНК-зв'язуючий білок, який інгібує експресію одного або декількох генів, зв'язуючись з оператором. ДНК-зв'язуючий репресор блокує приєднання РНК-полімерази до промотора, тим самим запобігаючи транскрипції генів в посильні РНК. РНК-зв'язуючий репресор зв'язується з мРНК і перешкоджає трансляції мРНК в білок. Це блокування вираження називається репресіями.
