У католицькій моральній теології імовірність дає можливість відповісти на питання про те, що робити, коли не знає, що робити. Імовірність пропонує, що можна слідувати вірогідній думці щодо того, чи може діяння бути виконане морально, навіть якщо протилежна думка є більш імовірною. Вперше його було сформульовано в 1577 році Варфоломієм Медіною, О.П., який викладав у Саламанці.
Визначення rigorism у англійська словнику
Перше визначення строгості в словнику - суворість у суді або поведінці. Інше визначення ригоризму - релігійний культ крайнього самозречення. Риторизм також є доктриною, що у випадках сумнівів у моральних питаннях завжди слід дотримуватися суворішого курсу.
