Натуральний каучук, також називається Індійська гума або каучук, як спочатку виготовляється, складається з полімерів органічної сполуки ізопрена з невеликими домішками інших органічних сполук плюс вода. Форми поліізопрену, корисні як природні каучуки, класифікуються як еластомери. В даний час гума збирається в основному у вигляді латексу з певних дерев.
