Табар - це коротке пальто, котре було для чоловіків протягом середньовіччя. Як правило, воно використовується під відкритим небом, шерсть була або без рукавів або мала короткі рукави або плечі. У більш розвиненому вигляді він був відкритий з боків; і його можна носити з ременем або без нього. Хоча більшість з них були звичайними предметами одягу, найчастіше робочими спецодягами, на фронтах і на звороті з гербом могли бути прикрашені табурети, і в цій формі вони виживають зараз як особлива одяг офіцерів зброї. У сучасному британському застосуванні цей термін відродився за те, що на американському англійському має назву як фартук коблери: легкий відкритий верхній шар, подібний до свого середньовічного та геральдичного еквівалента, який носить, зокрема, працівники громадського харчування, прибирання і охорону здоров'я, як захисний одяг, або на вулиці тим, хто потребує високої видимості одягу.
