Вихреве кільце, що також називається тороїдальним вихором, - вихор у формі струменя у рідині; тобто область, де рідина в основному обертається навколо уявної лінії осі, яка утворює замкнуту петлю. Домінуючий потік у вихровому кільці вважається тороїдальним, точніше полоїдальним. Вихрові кільця багато в турбулентних потоках рідин і газів, але вони рідко помічаються, якщо рух рідини не виявляється суспендованими частинками, як у димові кільця, які часто виробляються навмисно або випадково курцями. Вогненні вихрові кільця також є загальновизнаним трюком вогню. Видимі вихрові кільця також можуть утворюватися при стрільбі певної артилерії, у грибних хмарах і мікроруках. Вихреве кільце зазвичай має тенденцію рухатися у напрямку, перпендикулярному площині кільця, і таким чином, щоб внутрішній край кільця рухався швидше вперед, ніж зовнішній край. У стаціонарному тілі рідини вихровий кільце може рухатись на відносно велику відстань, несучи з ним крутильну рідину.
