Ваххабізм - радикальний релігійний рух або відгалуження гілки ісламу [1] [2], що різноманітно називають "ортодоксальними", "ультраконсерваторами", [3] "суворими", "фундаменталістами", "пуританськими" [4], [5] Ісламський "реформаторський рух", щоб відновити "чисте монотеїстичне богослужіння" [6] або "екстремістське псевдосунітське рух" [7]. Він прагне повернутися до найперших фундаментальних ісламських джерел Корану та Хадітів, з натхненням від вчення середньовічного богослова Ібн Таймія і раннього юриста Ахмада ібн Ханбала [8].
