Західні Гати
Західні Гати - це гірський хребет, який проходить майже паралельно західному узбережжю Індійського півострова. Це об'єкт Всесвітньої спадщини ЮНЕСКО і є одним з восьми "найгарячіших місць" біологічного різноманіття у світі. Його іноді називають Великим Упадом Індії. Діапазон проходить з півночі на південь вздовж західного краю плато Декан, і відокремлює плато від вузької прибережної рівнини, що називається Конкан, вздовж Аравійського моря. Загалом тридцять дев'ять об'єктів, включаючи національні парки, заповідники та резервні ліси, були визначені як об'єкти світової спадщини - двадцять в штаті Керала, десять в Карнатака, п'ять в Тамілдау і чотири в штаті Махараштра. Діапазон починається поблизу кордону Гуджарату та Махараштри, на південь від річки Тапті, і протікає приблизно в 1600 км через штани Махараштра, Гоа, Карнатака, Таміл Наду та Керала, що закінчуються Каньякумарі, на півдні Індії.
