Byhan, Jb., IV, 304), caz în care ar fi identic cu bolînd; dar opinia admisă în general este că, dimpotrivă, rut.blynda,sb.blanda și bg.blŭnda provin din rom. (Candrea, Elemente, 407; Capidan, Raporturile, 230). A îmblînzi,vb., considerat de Pușcariu 779 ca der. dintr-un lat. *blandῑre (‹ blandῑri), este mai curând o formație internă a rom. De asemenea se consideră în general că blîndețe,s. f. (gingășie, dulceață, bunătate) reprezintă lat.blandῑties (Pușcariu 207; Candrea-Dens., 165; REW 1150; DAR); dar este mai probabil o der. internă a rom. (cf.
