Im Lateinischen gibt es fünf Deklinationen von Substantiven und vier Konjugationen von Verben. Latein hat keine Artikel und unterscheidet sich also nicht zwischen "einem Mädchen" und "dem Mädchen": puella amat bedeutet sowohl "ein Mädchen liebt" und "das Mädchen liebt". Latein nutzt Präpositionen und setzt meist Adjektive nach Substantiven.
