Archibald-Preis
Der Archibald-Preis gilt als der wichtigste Porträtspreis in Australien. Es wurde erstmals 1921 nach einem Nachlass von JF Archibald, dem Redakteur des Bulletins, der 1919 starb, verliehen. Es wird von den Treuhändern der Kunstgalerie von New South Wales verwaltet und für "das beste Porträt, bevorzugt von einem Mann oder Frau, die in Kunst, Briefe, Wissenschaft oder Politik unterschieden wurde, gemalt von einem Künstler, der in Australien während der zwölf Monate vor dem von den Treuhändern für das Versenden der Bilder festgelegten Datum ansässig war. " Der Archibald-Preis wird jährlich verliehen und ab September 2011 ist der Preis ein $ 75.000.
