Ibn Battuta
Ibn Baṭūṭah, oder einfach Ibn Battuta, war ein marokkanischer Entdecker von Berber Abstammung. Er ist bekannt für seine umfangreichen Reisen, deren Berichte im Rihla veröffentlicht wurden. Über einen Zeitraum von dreißig Jahren besuchte Ibn Battuta die meisten der bekannten islamischen Welt sowie viele nichtmuslimische Länder.
