In der Wahrscheinlichkeitstheorie und Statistik ist die Binomialverteilung die diskrete Wahrscheinlichkeitsverteilung der Anzahl der Erfolge in einer Folge von n unabhängigen Ja / Nein-Experimenten, von denen jeder Erfolg mit der Wahrscheinlichkeit p ergibt. Damit ist die Wahrscheinlichkeit eines Ereignisses durch seine Binomialverteilung definiert. Ein Erfolgs- / Versagensexperiment wird auch Bernoulli-Experiment oder Bernoulli-Studie genannt; Wenn n = 1 ist, ist die Binomialverteilung eine Bernoulli-Verteilung. Die Binomialverteilung ist die Grundlage für den populären Binomialtest statistischer Bedeutung. Die Binomialverteilung wird häufig verwendet, um die Anzahl der Erfolge in einer Stichprobe der Größe n zu modellieren, die mit einem Ersatz von einer Population der Größe N gezeichnet wird.
