Ceuta
Ceuta ist eine 18,5 Quadratkilometer große autonome Stadt Spaniens und eine Exklave an der Nordküste Afrikas, die eine westliche Grenze mit Marokko teilt. Von der Iberischen Halbinsel durch die Straße von Gibraltar getrennt, liegt Ceuta an der Grenze zwischen dem Mittelmeer und dem Atlantischen Ozean. Ceuta, zusammen mit der spanischen Exklave Melilla, ist eine von zwei dauerhaft bewohnten spanischen Territorien im Festland Afrika. Es war Teil der Provinz Cádiz bis zum 14. März 1995, als das Statut der Autonomie der Stadt verabschiedet wurde. Ceuta, wie Melilla, war ein freier Hafen, bevor Spanien der Europäischen Union beigetreten war. Ab 2011 hat es eine Bevölkerung von 82.376. Seine Bevölkerung besteht aus Christen, Muslimen und kleinen Minderheiten von Juden und indischen Hindus. Spanisch ist die offizielle Sprache. Die Mehrheit der Stadtbevölkerung ist ethnisch Spanisch, die gegen die Idee, von Marokko beherrscht werden. Eine Umfrage, die vom Instituto Opina durchgeführt wurde, stellte fest, dass 87,9% der Menschen aus dem Festland Spanien die beiden Städte als spanisch betrachten.
