Cheddite
Cheddite ist eine Klasse von explosiven Materialien, die ursprünglich in der Stadt Chedde in Haute-Savoie, Frankreich in den frühen zwanzigsten Jahrhunderts hergestellt wurden. In engem Zusammenhang mit Sprengel-Sprengstoffen bestanden die Chedditen aus einem hohen Anteil an anorganischen Chloraten, die mit Nitroaromaten gemischt wurden, sowie ein wenig Paraffin oder Rizinusöl als Mäßig für das Chlorat. Es wurden mehrere verschiedene Typen hergestellt, und sie wurden hauptsächlich beim Abbau verwendet. Wegen der Verfügbarkeit der Zutaten und des einfachen Herstellungsprozesses war es auch das häufigste Sprengstoffmaterial, das vom polnischen Untergrundstaat im besetzten Polen während des Zweiten Weltkrieges hergestellt wurde. Es wurde für die Produktion der R wz verwendet. 42 und Filipinka Handgranaten. Seit den 1970er Jahren ist Cheddite der Handelsname für eine explosive Verbindung, die als Sprengstoff-Grundierung für Schrotflintenpatronen verwendet wird. Es enthält 90% Kaliumchlorat, 7% Paraffin, 3% Petroleumgelee und Spuren von Ruß.
