Nicolaus Kopernikus
Nicolaus Kopernikus (Polnisch: Mikołaj Kopernik (Hilfe · Info), Deutsch: Nikolaus Kopernikus, 19. Februar 1473 - 24. Mai 1543) war ein Renaissance-Mathematiker und Astronom, der ein heliozentrisches Modell des Universums formulierte, das die Sonne und nicht die Erde platzierte, im Zentrum. Die Veröffentlichung des Buches von Kopernikus, De revolutionibus orbium coelestium (Auf den Revolutionen der Himmelskugeln), kurz vor seinem Tod im Jahre 1543, gilt als ein bedeutendes Ereignis in der Geschichte der Wissenschaft. Es begann die Kopernikanische Revolution und trug wesentlich zur wissenschaftlichen Revolution bei. Kopernikus wurde geboren und starb in Königspreußen, einer Region des Königreichs Polen seit 1466. Kopernikus hatte eine Promotion im kanonischen Recht und war zwar ohne Abschlüsse ein Arzt, Polyglott, Klassiker Gelehrter, Übersetzer, Gouverneur, Diplomat und Ökonom, der Im Jahre 1517 setzte eine Quantitätstheorie des Geldes ein, ein Hauptkonzept in der Ökonomie bis zur Gegenwart und formulierte eine Version von Greshams Gesetz im Jahre 1519 vor Gresham.
