Albert Einstein
Albert Einstein (ælbərt aɪnstaɪn /; deutsch: (hören), 14. März 1879 - 18. April 1955) war ein deutscher theoretischer Physiker. Er entwickelte die allgemeine Relativitätstheorie, eine der beiden Säulen der modernen Physik (neben der Quantenmechanik). Er ist bekannt für seine Massenenergie-Äquivalenzformel E = mc2 (die als "die berühmteste Gleichung der Welt" bezeichnet wurde). Er erhielt den Nobelpreis für Physik "1921" für seine Dienste für die theoretische Physik und besonders für seine Entdeckung des Gesetzes des photoelektrischen Effekts ". Letzteres war bei der Festlegung der Quantentheorie entscheidend. Am Anfang seiner Karriere war Einstein der Ansicht, dass die Newtonsche Mechanik nicht mehr ausreicht, um die Gesetze der klassischen Mechanik mit den Gesetzen des elektromagnetischen Feldes in Einklang zu bringen. Dies führte zur Entwicklung seiner speziellen Relativitätstheorie. Er erkannte jedoch, daß das Relativitätsprinzip auch auf Gravitationsfelder ausgedehnt werden konnte, und mit seiner späteren Gravitationstheorie 1916 veröffentlichte er ein Papier über die allgemeine Relativitätstheorie.
