Fluidik
Fluidik oder fluidische Logik ist die Verwendung einer Flüssigkeit, um analoge oder digitale Operationen ähnlich wie bei der Elektronik durchzuführen. Die physikalische Basis der Fluidik ist die Pneumatik und die Hydraulik, basierend auf dem theoretischen Fundament der Fluiddynamik. Der Begriff Fluidik wird normalerweise verwendet, wenn Vorrichtungen keine beweglichen Teile haben, so dass gewöhnliche hydraulische Komponenten wie Hydraulikzylinder und Schieberventile nicht als fluidische Vorrichtungen betrachtet oder bezeichnet werden. Die 1960er Jahre sahen die Anwendung von Fluidik zu anspruchsvollen Kontrollsystemen, mit der Einführung des fluidischen Verstärkers. Ein Strahl von Flüssigkeit kann durch einen schwächeren Strahl abgelenkt werden, der ihn an der Seite schlägt. Dies stellt eine nichtlineare Verstärkung bereit, ähnlich dem Transistor, der in der elektronischen digitalen Logik verwendet wird. Es wird vor allem in Umgebungen eingesetzt, in denen die elektronische digitale Logik unzuverlässig wäre, wie bei Systemen, die hohen elektromagnetischen Störungen oder ionisierender Strahlung ausgesetzt sind. Die Nanotechnologie betrachtet Fluidik als eines ihrer Instrumente. In diesem Bereich sind Effekte wie Fluid-Solid- und Fluid-Fluid-Grenzflächenkräfte oft sehr signifikant. Fluidik wurde auch für militärische Anwendungen eingesetzt.
