Fritillaria
Fritillaria ist eine Gattung von etwa 100 bis 130 Arten von Zwiebelpflanzen in der Familie Liliaceae, gebürtig zu den gemäßigten Regionen der Nordhalbkugel, vor allem im Mittelmeerraum, im Südwesten Asiens und im westlichen Nordamerika. Der Name stammt aus dem lateinischen Begriff für eine Würfelbox und bezieht sich vermutlich auf das karierte Muster der Blüten vieler Arten. Pflanzen der Gattung sind in englischer Sprache als Fritillaren bekannt. Einige nordamerikanische Arten werden Missionsglocken genannt.
