Ganges
Der Ganges, auch Ganga, ist ein grenzüberschreitender Fluss Asiens, der durch Indien und Bangladesch fließt. Der 2.525 km lange Fluss erhebt sich im westlichen Himalaya im indischen Bundesstaat Uttarakhand und fließt nach Süden und Osten durch die Gangetische Ebene Nordindiens nach Bangladesch, wo er in die Bucht von Bengalen entleert. Es ist der drittgrößte Fluss durch Entlastung. Der Ganges ist der heiligste Fluss der Hindus. Es ist auch eine Rettungsleine für Millionen von Indern, die ihren Kurs leben und sich auf sie für ihren täglichen Bedarf verlassen. Es wird als die Göttin Ganga im Hinduismus verehrt. Es war auch historisch wichtig, mit vielen ehemaligen provinziellen oder kaiserlichen Hauptstädten an seinen Ufern gelegen. Der Ganges wurde im Jahr 2007 als der fünftgrößte Fluss der Welt eingestuft.
