Hades
Hades war der alte griechische Gott der Unterwelt. Schließlich kam der Name des Gottes, um den Wohnsitz der Toten zu bezeichnen. In der griechischen Mythologie ist Hades das älteste männliche Kind von Cronus und Rhea unter Berücksichtigung der Geburtsordnung von der Mutter oder dem Jüngsten unter Berücksichtigung des Aufstiegs durch den Vater. Die feste Erde, lang die Provinz Gaia, war allen drei gleichzeitig verfügbar. Später begannen die Griechen den Gott als Plouton zu bezeichnen, den die Römer als Pluto latinisierten. Die Römer würden Hades / Pluto mit ihren eigenen chthonischen Göttern, Dis Pater und Orcus, verbinden. Der entsprechende etruskische Gott war Aita. Er ist oft mit dem dreiköpfigen Hund Cerberus dargestellt. In der späteren mythologischen Tradition, wenn auch nicht in der Antike, ist er mit dem Helm der Finsternis und dem Bitter verbunden. Der Begriff hades in der christlichen Theologie ist parallel zum hebräischen sheol und bezieht sich auf den Aufenthaltsort der Toten.
