Hadith
Hadith im religiösen Gebrauch wird oft als "Tradition" übersetzt, dh ein Bericht über die Lehren, Taten und Redewendungen des islamischen Propheten Muhammad. Die Hadith-Literatur wurde aus mündlichen Berichten zusammengestellt, die in der Gesellschaft um die Zeit ihrer Zusammenstellung, auch nach dem Tod von Muhammad, vorhanden waren. Die Sammlung von Bukhari, die von vielen traditionellen religiösen Gelehrten als die "zuverlässigsten" betrachtet wird, wurde zwei Jahrhunderte nach dem Tod des Propheten zusammengestellt. Hadiths berichten, dass sie von wichtigen Charakteren der frühesten Jahre des Islam stammen, wie die Gefährten von Muhammad oder Shia Imams / Religiöse Führer. Diese Hadith-Erzählungen haben die umstrittene Grundlage der Scharia-Modelle des "islamischen Gesetzes" gebildet, trotz der Widersprüche, die sie in Bezug auf den Koran selbst enthalten, wie etwa die Strafe für Zina im Hadith widerspricht dem Quran, die Zakat-Zinssätze Ribba etc. Der Hadith hat auch einen tiefen Einfluss auf die Formulierung der Kommentare über den Koran gehabt.
