Ein Kinglet oder ein Kamm ist ein kleiner Vogel in einer Gruppe, die manchmal in den Altweingrasmücken eingeschlossen ist, aber häufig in seiner eigenen Familie, Regulidae, wegen der Ähnlichkeit mit dem Titmice platziert wird. "Regulidae" stammt aus dem lateinischen Wort regulus für "kleiner König" oder Prinz, und kommt von den farbigen Kronen der erwachsenen Vögel. Diese Familie hat Vertreter in Nordamerika und Eurasien. Es gibt sieben Arten in dieser Familie; Einer, der Madeira Firecrest, Regulus madeirensis, wurde erst vor kurzem von Common Firecrest als eigenständige Spezies gespalten. Eine Art, die Rubin-gekrönte Kinglet, unterscheidet sich in ihrer Stimme und ihrem Gefieder genügend, um gelegentlich ihre eigene Gattung Corthylio zu erwerben.
