Macadamia
Macadamia ist eine Gattung von vier Arten von Bäumen, die nach Australien einheimisch sind und einen Teil der Pflanzenfamilie Proteaceae bilden. Sie sind heimisch in Nord-Ost-New South Wales und Zentral-und Süd-Ost-Queensland. Der Baum ist kommerziell wichtig für seine Frucht, die Macadamia-Nuss oder einfach Macadamia. Andere Namen schließen Queensland Nuss, Buschnuss, Maroochi Nuss, bauple Mutter und Hawaii Nuss ein. In australischen Aborigine-Sprachen ist die Frucht unter Namen wie bauple, gyndl, jindilli und boombera bekannt.
