Mimesis
Mimesis (mīmēsis), von μιμεῖσθαι (mīmeisthai), "nachzuahmen", von μῖμος (mimos), "Imitator, Schauspieler") ist ein kritischer und philosophischer Begriff, der eine breite Palette von Bedeutungen trägt, die Nachahmung beinhalten , Repräsentation, Mimik, Imitat, Empfänglichkeit, unvergessliche Ähnlichkeit, der Akt der Ähnlichkeit, der Akt des Ausdrucks und die Darstellung des Selbst. Im alten Griechenland war Mimesis eine Idee, die die Schaffung von Kunstwerken, insbesondere mit der Korrespondenz der physischen Welt, die als Modell für Schönheit, Wahrheit und Gutes verstanden wurde, regierte. Plato kontrastierte Mimesis oder Nachahmung mit Diegesi oder Erzählung. Nach Plato verlagerte sich die Bedeutung von Mimesis schließlich auf eine spezifisch literarische Funktion in der antiken griechischen Gesellschaft, und ihre Verwendung hat sich seither verändert und wurde mehrmals uminterpretiert.
