Der höchste Berg der Erde ist der Mount Everest im Himalaya Asiens, dessen Gipfel 8.849.868 m über dem mittleren Meeresspiegel liegt. Der höchst bekannte Berg auf jedem Planeten im Sonnensystem ist Olympus Mons auf dem Mars auf 21.171 m.
