Computer Multitasking
Bei der Berechnung ist Multitasking eine Methode, bei der mehrere Aufgaben während des gleichen Zeitraums durchgeführt werden - sie werden gleichzeitig statt sequentiell ausgeführt. Multitasking löst das Problem durch die Planung, welche Aufgabe derjenige sein kann, der zu einem bestimmten Zeitpunkt läuft, und wenn eine andere Warteaufgabe eine Wendung bekommt. Der Akt der Neuzuweisung einer CPU von einer Task zu einer anderen wird als Kontextwechsel bezeichnet. Wenn Kontextwechsel häufig genug auftreten, wird die Illusion der Parallelität erreicht.
