Nappe
In der Geologie ist eine Schräg- oder Schubfolie ein großer Plattenfels, der mehr als 2 km oder 5 km über einen Schubfehler aus seiner ursprünglichen Position bewegt wurde. Nappes bilden sich in kompressionsektonischen Einstellungen wie kontinentale Kollisionszonen oder auf der übergeordneten Platte in aktiven Subduktionszonen. Nappes bilden, wenn eine Felsmasse über eine andere Felsmasse gezwungen wird, typischerweise auf einer Low-Angle-Fliegebene. Die daraus resultierende Struktur kann großflächige Liegeräder umfassen, Scheren entlang der Fehlerebene, Schubschubstapel, Fensters und Klippe. Der Begriff stammt aus dem französischen Wort für Tischdecke in Anspielung zu einer zerknitterten Tischdecke, die über einen Tisch geschoben wird.
