Pyriprole
Pyriprole ist für den veterinärmedizinischen Einsatz bei Hunden gegen äußere Parasiten wie Flöhe und Zecken. Pyriprol ist ein Phenylpyrazolderivat ähnlich Fipronil. Obwohl vor kurzem eingeführt und noch unter Patentschutz ist es ein "klassisches" Insektizid. Bisher ist es nur in der EU und einigen anderen Ländern für den Einsatz bei Hunden zugelassen. Es ist nicht für den Gebrauch auf Katzen oder Viehbestand zugelassen. Es wurde nicht als landwirtschaftliches oder hygienisches Pestizid eingeführt. Pyriprole angewendet als Spot-on ist sehr effektiv gegen Flöhe und mehrere Zecken Arten. Die Wirksamkeit gegen Flöhe ist vergleichbar mit der der anderen modernen insektiziden Wirkstoffe wie Fipronil, Imidacloprid, Spinetoram oder Spinosad. Wie die meisten Floh-Spot-ons es steuert vorhandenen Floh und Zecken Befall in etwa 1 bis 2 Tage, und bietet etwa 4 Wochen Schutz gegen Re-Befall.
