Telos (Philosophie)
Ein telos ist ein Ende oder Zweck, in einem ziemlich eingeschränkten Sinn von Philosophen wie Aristoteles verwendet. Es ist die Wurzel des Begriffs "Teleologie", grob das Studium der Zweckmäßigkeit oder das Studium von Objekten im Hinblick auf ihre Ziele, Zwecke oder Absichten. Die Teleologie steht zentral in der Biologie von Aristoteles und in seiner Theorie der Ursachen. Es ist zentral für fast alle philosophischen Theorien der Geschichte, wie die von Hegel und Marx. Eine laufende Debatte in der zeitgenössischen Philosophie der Biologie ist, inwieweit die teleologische Sprache unvermeidlich ist, oder ist einfach eine Abkürzung für Ideen, die letztlich nichtteleologisch formuliert werden können. Die Philosophie des Handelns macht auch den Gebrauch des teleologischen Wortschatzes aus: Auf Davidsons Konto ist eine Handlung nur eine Sache, die ein Beamter mit einer Absicht hat - das heißt, wir freuen uns auf ein Ende, um durch die Aktion erreicht zu werden. Im Gegensatz zu telos ist techne die rationale Methode, die bei der Herstellung eines Objekts oder der Erreichung eines Ziels oder Ziels beteiligt ist; Die beiden Methoden schließen sich jedoch grundsätzlich nicht gegenseitig aus.
