Säkularisierung
Säkularisierung oder Säkularisierung ist die Umwandlung einer Gesellschaft von der engen Identifikation mit religiösen Werten und Institutionen zu nichtreligiösen Werten und säkularen Institutionen. Die Säkularisierungsarbeit bezieht sich auf den Glauben, dass die Gesellschaft, wenn die Gesellschaften vor allem durch Modernisierung und Rationalisierung fortschreiten, ihre Autorität in allen Aspekten des sozialen Lebens und der Governance verliert. Der Begriff Säkularisierung wird auch im Zusammenhang mit der Aufhebung der Klosterbeschränkungen von einem Mitglied des Klerus verwendet. Die Säkularisierung hat viele Bedeutungsstufen, sowohl als Theorie als auch als historischer Prozess. Sozialtheoretiker wie Karl Marx, Sigmund Freud, Max Weber und Émile Durkheim, postulierten, dass die Modernisierung der Gesellschaft einen Rückgang der Religiosität einschließen würde. Die Untersuchung dieses Prozesses zielt darauf ab, die Art und Weise zu bestimmen, in welcher oder in welchem Umfang religiöse Glaubensbekenntnisse, Praktiken und Institutionen soziale Bedeutung verlieren. Einige Theoretiker argumentieren, dass die Säkularisierung der modernen Zivilisation zum Teil aus unserer Unfähigkeit resultiert, breite ethische und spirituelle Bedürfnisse der Menschheit an den zunehmend schnellen Fortschritt der physikalischen Wissenschaften anzupassen.
