Geschmack, gustatorische Wahrnehmung oder Geschmack ist der sinnliche Eindruck von Lebensmitteln oder anderen Substanzen auf der Zunge und ist einer der fünf traditionellen Sinne. Geschmack ist die Empfindung, die erzeugt wird, wenn eine Substanz im Mund chemisch mit Geschmackrezeptorzellen auf Geschmacksknospen reagiert. Geschmack, zusammen mit Geruch und Trigeminus Nerv Stimulation, bestimmt Aromen von Lebensmitteln oder anderen Stoffen. Menschen haben Geschmack Rezeptoren auf Geschmacksknospen und anderen Bereichen, einschließlich der oberen Oberfläche der Zunge und der Epiglottis. Die Zunge ist mit Tausenden von kleinen Stößen wie Papillen bedeckt, die mit dem bloßen Auge leicht sichtbar sind. Innerhalb jeder Papille sind Hunderte von Geschmacksknospen.
