Das syrische Volk ist die Bewohner der syrischen Arabischen Republik und ihre Vorfahren, die eine gemeinsame Levantinische semitische Abstammung teilen. Die syrische Diaspora besteht aus über 18 Millionen Menschen aus syrischen Abstammung, die nach Nordamerika, Europa, Südamerika, Australien und Afrika ausgewandert sind. Damaskus, die Hauptstadt Syriens, ist eine der längsten ununterbrochenen Städte der Welt.
