Thallus
Thallus, aus dem lateinischen griechischen θαλλός, was bedeutet, ein grüner Trieb oder Zweig, ist das undifferenzierte vegetative Gewebe von einigen Organismen in verschiedenen Gruppen wie Algen, Pilze, einige Leber, Flechten und die Myxogastria. Viele dieser Organismen waren früher als Thallophyten bekannt, eine polyphyletische Gruppe von weit entfernten Organismen. Ein Organismus oder eine Struktur, die einem Thallus ähnelt, heißt Thalloid, Thallodal, Thalliform, Thallin oder Thallose. Ein Thallus nennt gewöhnlich den ganzen Körper eines mehrzelligen, nicht bewegenden Organismus, in dem es keine Organisation der Gewebe in Organe gibt. Obwohl Thalli nicht organisiert und verschiedene Teile wie die Gefäßpflanzen organisiert haben, können sie analoge Strukturen haben, die ihren vaskulären "Äquivalenten" ähneln. Die analogen Strukturen haben eine ähnliche Funktion oder makroskopische Struktur, aber unterschiedliche mikroskopische Struktur; Zum Beispiel hat kein Thallus vaskuläres Gewebe. In Ausnahmefällen wie den Lemnoideae, wo die Struktur einer Gefäßpflanze tatsächlich thallusartig ist, wird sie als Thalloidstruktur bezeichnet oder manchmal als Thalloid.
