Zoroastrianismus
Zoroastrianismus / ˌzɒroʊæstriənɪzəm /, auch Zarathustraismus genannt, Mazdaismus und Magianismus, ist eine alte iranische Religion und eine religiöse Philosophie. Es war einmal die Staatsreligion der Achaemeniden, Parthischen und Sasanischen Reiche. Die Schätzungen der aktuellen Anzahl der Zoroastrer weltweit variieren zwischen 145.000 und 2,6 Millionen. Zoroastrianismus entstand in der östlichen Region des alten persischen Reiches, als der religiöse Philosoph Zoroaster das Pantheon der frühen iranischen Götter in zwei gegensätzliche Kräfte vereinfachte: Spenta Mainyu und Angra Mainyu unter dem einen Gott, Ahura Mazda. Zoroaster's Ideen führten zu einer formalen Religion, die seinen Namen um etwa das 6. Jahrhundert v.Chr. Trägt und andere spätere Religionen wie Judentum, Gnostizismus, Christentum und Islam beeinflusst hat.
