José Zorrilla
José Zorrilla y Moral war ein spanischer romantischer Dichter und Dramatiker. Er wurde in Valladolid zu einem Richter geboren, in dem Ferdinand VII. Besonderes Vertrauen stellte. Er wurde von den Jesuiten im Real Seminario de Nobles in Madrid erzogen, schrieb Verse, als er zwölf war, wurde ein begeisterter Verehrer von Walter Scott und Chateaubriand und nahm an den Schulaufführungen von Spielen von Lope de Vega und Calderón de la Barca teil . Im Jahre 1833 wurde er an die Universität von Toledo geschickt, aber nach einem Jahr der Untätigkeit floh er nach Madrid, wo er die Freunde seines absolutistischen Vaters entsetzte, indem er gewalttätige Reden machte und eine Zeitung gründete, die sofort von der Unterdrückung unterdrückt wurde Regierung. Er entkam dem Transport auf die Philippinen und ging die nächsten Jahre in Armut. Der Tod des Satiristen Mariano José de Larra brachte Zorrilla in Notiz. Sein elegisches Gedicht, das im Februar 1837 bei Larras Beerdigung las, stellte ihn den führenden Briefen vor. Im Jahre 1837 veröffentlichte er ein Buch von Versen, meist Nachahmungen von Alphonse de Lamartine und Victor Hugo, die so positiv aufgenommen wurde, dass er sechs weitere Bände innerhalb von drei Jahren gedruckt hat.
