Rap
Rap ist eines der vier Elemente der Hip-Hop-Kultur. Rap ist eine Vokaltechnik, die schnell spricht, während der Täter Rapper genannt wird. Normalerweise wird Rap von einem DJ und einer Band begleitet. Aber Rap kann auf afrikanische Wurzeln zurückgeführt werden. Jahrhunderte bevor Hip-Hop-Musik existiert, hat Westafrika eine rhythmische Geschichte namens Griots gegeben, mehr als Schlagzeug und seltene Instrumente. Die Verbindung wurde von den heutigen Künstlern erkannt. Normalerweise singen Rapper wie ein normaler Sänger solo. Beispiele sind KRS-One, Nas, Jay-Z und Kanye West. Es gibt auch einen Rapper, der ein Bandmitglied ist, zum Beispiel Mike Shinoda von Linkin Park. Rapper wird oft MC oder Emcee genannt. Und in Jamaikas eigenem Rapperbegriff kann man Dee-Jay wie Sean Paul nennen.
