Caleb - biblische Figur aus dem Alten Testament, Sohn von Jephunne, Vater von Ira, Eli, Naam und Aksy. Der Preis war der Eintritt in das Gelobte Land und die Zuteilung von Hebrons Erbe. Er lebte wahrscheinlich im 13.-12. Jahrhundert v. Chr. Die Bibel gibt keine Auskunft über seinen Tod. Nach jüdischer Überlieferung starb er in der Stadt Joshua Timnat-Serach. Calebs Familie stammt aus der Familie Kalebit.

Nagrodą za to był wstęp do Ziemi Obiecanej i przydział okolic Hebronu w dziedzictwo. Żył prawdopodobnie w XIII-XII wieku p.n.e. Biblia nie podaje żadnych informacji o jego śmierci. Według tradycji żydowskiej umarł w mieście Jozuego Timnat-Serach. Od Kaleba pochodzi ród Kalebitów.
