CIF
CIF ist ein Begriff für den internationalen Handel. Wortkorrespondenzen bedeuten Waren-, Versicherungs- und Frachtkosten. Bei dieser Art von Handel übernimmt der Verkäufer die gleichen Verpflichtungen wie in der CFR-Laufzeit, beinhaltet aber auch die Pflicht, eine Transportversicherung gegen das Verlust- und Schadensrisiko der Ware während der Beförderung abzuschließen. Es ist Sache des Händlers, hier den Versicherungsvertrag zu unterschreiben und die Versicherungsprämie zu bezahlen. Der Käufer muss darauf achten, dass nur ein minimaler Versicherungsschutz vom Verkäufer in der CIF-Laufzeit erwartet wird. Die CIF-Laufzeit sieht die Ausgabe von Waren durch den Verkäufer vor. Dieser Begriff kann nur für den See- oder Flussverkehr verwendet werden. Wenn es keine praktische Bedeutung des "Schiffs" beim Transport gibt, wie im Roll-on / Roll-off- oder Containerverkehr, ist der Begriff CIP in diesem Fall geeigneter.
